Chapman, Cranston, died Saturday at the University hospital at Iowa City following an illness with a complication of ailments. Mr. Chapman was born 61 years ago in Louisa county but had spent practically all of his life in Muscatine county. He had resided on a farm near Cranston for the past seven years. He was a member of the United Brethren church at Cranston. Surviving are his widow; six children, Leonard and Ralph on a farm west of Muscatine, Everett, Albert, Bertha, at home; Mrs. Laura Gierse, near Nichols; a brother, O. L. Chapman of Muscatine; a sister, Mrs. Ella Chesebro of Ellendale, N. D.; one grandchild, MaryEtta Chapman. Funeral services will be held Tuesday afternoon at the Cranston church with burial in the Nichols cemetery.
