Obit - Wichita, Sedgwick Co., KS -Clay Center Dispatch, The - Hugh D. Burdick, 89, died Friday, Sept. 21, 2007. - He was the semi-retired president of Cavin-Burdick, Inc., a family owned electronics business. He was preceded in death by his wife, Delores "Dee" Marie (Cavin) Burdick. Survivors include three sons, Brian Burdick, Alan Burdick and Larry Burdick; one daughter, Karen Burdick; and three grandchildren. A funeral service will be held at 10:30 a.m. Saturday at Broadway Mortuary. Burial will be at 4 p.m. at Hebron Cemetery near Clay Center. Memorials may be made to the American Lung Association

Obit - "Dee" was the retired secretary-treasurer of Cavin-Burdick, Inc., a family owned electronics business. Funeral services 10:00 AM, Saturday at the Broadway Mortuary Chapel. Graveside services 3:00 PM, Saturday at the Hebron Cemetery near Clay Center. She was born June 12, 1920, in Clay County, near Clay Center, KS. She had fond memories of attending country schools near there. She attended Clay Center High School and faithfully went to their reunions until recently. After a year at Hays State College, she studied portrait photography, met her future husband, and they stayed in photography for 10 years. In 1954, they became Wichita residents, where other Cavin family members had moved. Her husband was now in electronics and worked at Boeing on the B-52 project. In 1972 they started their own electronics business. For 30 years, she and her husband have enjoyed camping and traveling. She has many friends in the Wichita Airstream Club, the Good Sam Conestogas, and at RAFT Ranch. They ate at South City Restaurant for years and felt that the owners and other patrons became an extended family. She enjoyed crafts through the years and was known as an expert in plastic canvas work. Dee was devoted to the ABW group at South Riverside Baptist Church; they made and provided supplies for missions. Published in the Wichita Eagle from 2/23/2006 - 2/24/2006.
