| Note | The Pocahontas Times 810 Second Avenue, Marlinton WV 24954 Phone (304) 799-4973 Nancy Lee Reynolds Parker, age 84, of Amherst, Ohio, died Saturday, October 11, 2003, at Community Health Partners Hospital, Lorain, Ohio, following many years of poor health. Born August 12, 1919, in Marlinton, where she was raised and lived until moving to the Amherst area in 1950, she was the daughter of the late Clifford Icen and Thursa Estel Lester Sharp. Mrs. Parker worked at Nelson Stud Welding in Lorain, Ohio, for 20 years and had been employed part-time at Marion L. Steele High School and Harris Elementary School. She was a member of St. Peter United Church of Christ, Amherst, Ohio. She was a long-time volunteer at Amherst Hospital and dedicated two years of her life to the care and rehabilitation of her handicapped nephew, Mark Simmons. She enjoyed ceramics, crafts, and needlework. Preceding her in death were her first husband of 35 years, Robert Clayton Reynolds, in 1975; second husband, Raymond Parker, in 1992; daughter, Ramona Sprague, in 1982; two brothers, James Icen Sharp and Marvin Lanty "Jim" Sharp; four sisters, Leva Sharp, Janie Simmons, Dolly Skeens, and Lutricia "Pete" Stimeling. Surviving her are three sons, Bill Reynolds, of Oberlin, Ohio, Jack Reynolds, of Amherst, Ohio, and Rob Reynolds, of Grafton, Ohio; three daughters, Barbara Balzer, of Vermilion, Ohio, Katherine Dow, of Raleigh, North Carolina, and Shirley Radefeld, of Belton, Texas; two sisters, Fay Doss and Ann Gibson, both of Marlinton; 19 grandchildren and 25 great-grandchildren. Services were held Wednesday morning, October 15, 2003, at St. Peter United Church of Christ, Amherst, Ohio, with the Rev. Mark Pemberton officiating. Burial was in Crownhill Cemetery Amherst.
