Josephine Fitzpatrick Died: Tuesday, July 05, 2005 Age: 80 Josephine Fitzpatrick of Oxford, formerly of Lake Orion, passed away on July 5, 2005. She was 80.

Josephine was born July 29, 1924 in Detroit to Leonard Chesterfield and Francis Louisa Anne Hosking. She is survived by her sister Shirley Chesterfield Anderson and brother Gary Chesterfield and her beloved husband William Fitzpatrick. Loving mother of Lisa Fitzpatrick Sokol (Leonard Sokol) of Lake Orion, James Craig Fitzpatrick (Linda Duguid) of Lake Orion and Susan Fitzpatrick Duggan (Brad Duggan) of Ortonville. Loving grandmother of Bryan, Austin and Ian Duggan, Jason (Marilyn Grier) and Christopher Fitzpatrick.

Josephine attended Detroit Public Schools and graduated from Cooley High School. She worked for Himelhoch’s and Montgomery Ward Department Stores. Josie was a loving mother who shared her passions for flowers, antiques and the cultural arts with her children. She loved history, travel and music. Josie celebrated life through her joyful gatherings with family and friends at holidays and special occasions. She was an avid golfer. Josie enjoyed collecting jewelry, antiques, clocks and Santas. Christmas was her favorite time of year, followed by her love of springtime with its lilacs and lovely wildflowers. Josie traveled to her family homeland in Cornwall, England and collected many English heirlooms and memories of her travels with Bill. Josie loved flowers, gardens, historic homes and towns, autumn in New England and attending plays at the Fisher and Fox Theatres. She loved watching her grandchildren grow to become wonderful, talented young men. She was proud of the accomplishments of her children. She adored her loving husband William with whom she celebrated 61 years of marriage.

Family and friends may attend visitation at the Bossardet Chapel Lynch & Sons Funeral home on Friday, July 8, from 3-9 p.m. Funeral services will be held Saturday, July 9, at 11 a.m. (The Clarkston News)
