20 Aug 1748 witnessed the deed recording the sale of 400+180 acres (?) from John Thrasher to James Smith (Albemarle Deed book Vol 1 page 129-131). Partial land description: ...both sides of Buffalo River near the Blue Mountains... Other witnesses were Wm Caball, Wm Caball, Jr., Luke Cornwall and John Harris.

1751 sold 150 acres to Wm Cabell (Albemarle Deed book Vol 1 page 361). Partial land description: ...150 acres on the branches of Huff's creek on the east side of the Tobacco Row Mountains & Bound ... beginning at Benjamin Steunetts (or Stennets) ...Witnesses James Foreland (sp?), James Christian (clearly Christian) and Phillip Davis

Possibly the James Chastain (also Chastaine and Chastine) in the Muster Rolls of a Company of Foot of Capt.
